About this guide

A practical publishing reference for BuildLACCD staff and the people who prepare content for the website.

Scope and status

The guidance targets WCAG 2.2 Level AA and focuses on the content BuildLACCD publishes: project photography, event notices, reports, meeting documents, forms and media. It was prepared by Dirango for client review in September 2026.

The governance model, review schedule and approval procedures are recommendations for District adoption. They do not establish that the District has adopted a policy or that the existing website conforms to WCAG.

How to use it

Choose a guide by task, work through the instructions and use its final checklist. For updates with several content types, use the publishing checklist and download a review record.

Articles can be printed with the Print guide button. A browser-generated PDF is a convenience copy and should be checked before being redistributed as an accessible document. The HTML articles are the primary reading format.

Sources and review

Each article links to supporting W3C/WAI or official product guidance. Sources and content were reviewed on September 12, 2026. Interfaces and standards can change; the assigned guide owner should review the library at least annually and after relevant tool changes.

Automated and browser checks support the implementation review, but this guide is not a formal accessibility conformance report. Assistive-technology and user testing remain part of a complete evaluation.

Privacy and assistance

The guide does not use analytics, advertising, embedded video or a server-side form. Search and example tools run in your browser. Checklist entries are not uploaded or saved across reloads. External reference sites have their own policies.

If you encounter a barrier, follow the issue reporting guidance. For current program contact options, visit BuildLACCD’s contact page. A dedicated intake route and service commitments should be confirmed by the District before launch.
